The Festival of Trees started in 1986 as a one-day event at the TCUP organized by the Canadian Progress Club – Saskatoon Meewasin. Proceeds were shared amongst the Progress Club, Saskatoon Crisis Nursery and Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation.

1987: the festival became a two-day event hosted at the Delta Bessborough hotel

1988 to 1990: the festival continued to grow and gain popularity

1990: Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation organized the Gala Evening & the Progress Club turned over the Festival to the Foundation to run

1991: the festival was named the Saskatoon City Hospital Festival of Trees.

General admission for the Festival of Trees includes entry to view all public areas & exhibits at the Western Development Museum during your visit. Advanced admission tickets will be available for purchase here by October 15. We strongly recommend advanced ticket sales, which is the fastest entry and helps us be prepared for your visit.

Limited walk-up admission sales are available, using cashless payments only. Walk up admission entry is not guaranteed if capacity has been met. Note all admission sales are handled by the Saskatoon Festival of Trees (rather than the Western Development Museum). Western Development Museum gift cards may not be used to purchase general admission tickets. Admission prices include GST, PST and service fees. All ticket sales are final. No cancellations or refunds.

The Festival of Trees has gone cashless! Debit or credit will be used for all purchases including general admission, special event tickets, gingerbread cookies, trees, wreaths, centerpieces and gingerbread houses. 50/50 raffle ticket purchases can be made by credit card only.
